Letters & Text

  1. I didn't see my city on your site--can I still get it on my Neighborhoodie?

Of course you can, silly. You can have anything you want stitched across your chest--any hometown, any neighborhood, any word or number or kooky inside joke. It takes proud citizens such as yourself to bring overlooked neighborhoods to our attention, so if you don't see your city or 'hood represented on our dropdown lists, love@neighborhoodies.com and we'll get it up there. Remember, if you're getting a neighborhood stitched on your hoodie, the simplest way to order this is on our product called The Original Neighborhoodie.

  2. Can I send you my current hoodie and have you stitch it with some cool personalized text?

    Um, no

  3. Are the letters silkscreened, embroidered, sewn on, or what?

For all of our products you get two choices: stitched or pressed. Stitching - get something stitched, and you won't regret it. The quality is actually difficult to convey on the site and in photos - megarocking cool. The quality can't be matched. Literally, nobody else in the country does it. Why? Because it's hard, and slow! Be wouldn't have it any other way. Each letter on our sweatshirt products and bags are individually sewn on, as this makes for the coolest look. While slightly pricier than the rest of our items, you can be sure you'll be the only cool kid on your block rocking a custom-made, personally-stitched Hoodie. Unless someone else on your block bought one from us, in which case you're screwed. Pressed - if you're getting a tee, get it pressed. The stitching is just too much quality, and the tee can't handle it. With pressed, the letters are affixed with a heat transfer process--during this time our seamstresses get to relax in hammocks drinking virgin daiquiris. Of course, you can also opt to get your Hoodie pressed as well. See, everyone wins! BTW, embroidery is a computer-based process that is frankly quite tacky. We don't do it, and we wrinkle our nose at the thought.

  4. If I want stitching on an item that ordinarily comes pressed can you do that for me?

You got it, bub. Just specify that you want it stitched during the ordering process (you'll be asked whether you would like it stitched); it only costs $6 more and looks ten times hotter, if not more. Maybe twelve times hotter?

  5. I have a special design in mind. How can I let you know about it?

Indicate all funky requests in the box provided on each style page -- the magical Special Instruction box.

  6. What is the Background Color Text Layer? It sounds snuggly.

Oh my gawd, it is SO snuggly! The Background Color Text Layer is essentially a shadow layer of text. Specifically, we lay out your Background Color Text like we normally would and then add another layer of text on top (and about ºî up and to the left) of the background layer. The result is a look that has depth and gives your Neighborhoodie a whole new dimension *wink wink* of coolness. We strongly recommend rocking monochromatic combinations, like black text on a black shirt with a gray Background Layer.

  7. How much is the Background Color Text Layer and how do I ask for it

Adding a background color costs $6, regardless of whether it's stitched or pressed, and regardless of the number of letters. It will be offered to you as an option during the checkout process (in tempting check-box form, no less). If your normal text is being stitched, your Background Layer will be stitched as well; otherwise it will be pressed.

  8. You've got all these awesome fonts--do they all cost the same?

Our Original and Font of the Month are included in the price of your Neighborhoodie. If you'd like one of the other fonts, it's $5 extra because we have to wrestle them away from snaggle-toothed dwarves. We think they're definitely worth it though, as they're guaranteed to make you a local celebrity. Guarantee not valid in the 48 contiguous states.
